MON LANZAROTE

Lanzarote with kids

Volcanoes, beaches, villages and breaks: a seven-day starting point from Playa Blanca that leaves room for children to enjoy the trip.

MY LANZAROTE does not force a fixed tour. It starts with your dates, base and interests, then helps you build coherent days. Local events overlapping your stay are shown first.

A week in Lanzarote with kids from Playa Blanca

Adapt this outline to your children’s ages, your accommodation and the tickets you can book. One main outing a day, followed by a nearby beach or a break, is usually enough. The north is a longer drive from Playa Blanca, so group its sights together.

  1. Day 1 · Arrive and settle in. Get to know Playa Blanca, buy what you need and keep the day open if your flight lands late.
  2. Day 2 · Volcanoes and the south-west. Book a timed ticket for Timanfaya. Afterwards choose one extra stop, such as El Golfo or Los Hervideros, if everyone still has energy.
  3. Day 3 · A beach day. Stay near your accommodation or visit Papagayo if conditions suit. Bring water, sun protection and a flexible return plan.
  4. Day 4 · Explore the north. Choose Jameos del Agua or Cueva de los Verdes. The cave has steps and narrow passages, as well as a timed ticket. Add Caletón Blanco only if the family wants another stop.
  5. Day 5 · Keep your options open. A village, a short walk or a rest day. The Teguise market takes place on Sunday; move this day if you want to visit it.
  6. Day 6 · An optional full-day excursion. La Graciosa involves driving to Órzola and taking a return ferry. A short outing near Playa Blanca is a gentler alternative.
  7. Day 7 · Return to a favourite place. Leave space for a swim, a meal or an easy activity before departure.

What to book in advance

Montañas del Fuego and Cueva de los Verdes require online tickets for a specific date and time. Check the official CACT guidance ↗ before fixing those days, and save the tickets on your phone before travelling.

Travelling with a young child

A single visit and a swim can make a complete day. Break up drives, carry water and sun protection, and keep an easy alternative near your base. Caletón Blanco ↗ is listed as family friendly by Turismo Lanzarote, but check the wind and conditions on the day.

Staying elsewhere? From Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen, rearrange the days by area. MY LANZAROTE uses your dates and accommodation to help build your own schedule. The first three Capsules are free.
